So fast and fun to make, this easy Grinch gnome wine bottle cover is a great way to gift wine this holiday season!

Materials

• Red Felt
• White Sherpa Fleece
• Green Faux Fur
• Wooden Ball For Nose
• Wine Bottle
• Black Acrylic Paint

Tools

• Paint Brush
• Hot Glue Gun
• Razor Knife
• Scissors

Instructions

1. Paint the wooden ball black.
2. Measure the length of the “beard”, based on your wine bottle. Cut the green fur to fit. Cut the fur from the back, and cut through the backing ONLY, then pull it
   apart.
3. Measure the width of the “beard” by wrapping the cut fur around the bottle, just below the shoulder of the bottle. Add about an inch of fur to go around the bottle, because you will want it to overlap just a bit, and you will want the cover to easily slip on and off the wine bottle.
4. Fold the fur, and mark the middle.
5. Cut a square of red felt for the hat. It should be the same width as the cut fur. Fold the red felt in half, mark the center, and cut diagonally from the cut edge to the center mark.
6. Cut a piece of white Sherpa fleece, about 1 inch wide, and as long as the beard is wide. Glue the fleece strip along the joining of the hat and the beard (to hide the seam).
7. Cut a circle of white Sherpa fleece, about 1-1/2 to 2 inches, pull the cut edges together to form a furry ball, and glue the edges. You can substitute a white pom-pom here, if you want to.
8. Glue a narrow strip (about 1/2 inch wide) of felt to the back of the beard on both sides. Place the felt so that it extends past the edge of the beard. Fold the beard in half, right sides together, and glue the felt add-ons together.
9. Glue the seam of the hat.
10. After the glue has cooled and set, turn the hat and beard right side out.
11. Glue the white ball to the tip of the hat.
12. Lay the bottle down, part the fur in the center, just below the hat, down to the backing. Glue the nose into place, just below the hat. Done!

No-Sew Snowman Gnome

Because this snowman gnome is a no-sew pattern it’s just that much easier to complete. You won’t have to dig out that old sewing machine—just dust off the hot glue gun! The minky fleece that the snowman gnome’s body is made of is so soft, you will want to reach out and touch the finished snowman gnome every time you catch a glimpse of it. My granddaughter has already told me that she needs one of these snowman gnomes. Guess what she is getting for Christmas!

The snowman gnome’s corncob pipe is made from a wine cork, and the hat is made from heavy-duty black felt. There may even be some magic in that old hat! In addition, you will need some craft felt in pink and blue (or teal) for the hat’s flower.

Instructions

1. Using the pattern for the No-Sew Snowman Gnome, cut the Minky fleece fabric for the body, head, arms, and base.
2. Match the body and head pieces, right sides together and glue, leaving the bottom and neck open.
3. Glue the base of the No-Sew Snowman Gnome to the bottom of the body.
4. Turn the body and head right side out.
5. Put about 2 cups of the poly pellets into the body, and stuff the rest with poly-fil.
6. Seal up the neck hole.
7. Stuff the head with poly-fil and seal up the neck hole.
8. Glue the head on top of the body.
9. Fold each arm lengthwise, with wrong sides together, and glue the cut edge, leaving one end open.
10. Cut two pieces of florists wire about the same length as the arm. Curl each end of the wire, and insert one wire into each arm.
11. Stuff the arms with poly-fil, set aside.
12. Using the pattern for the No-Sew Snowman Gnome, cut 1 piece of posterboard for the hat brim, crown and top.
13. Using the pattern for the No-Sew Snowman Gnome, cut 2 pieces of black felt for the hat brim, and one piece for the crown and top.
14. Glue a piece of florists wire along the edge of the posterboard hat brim.
15. Glue one piece of the felt hat brim onto the posterboard hat brim.
16. Turn the hat brim over, and glue the other piece of felt into place.
17. Glue the felt hat crown to the posterboard crown.
18. Curl the crown and insert into the center of the No-Sew Snowman Gnome hat brim. Glue into place.
19. Glue the felt hat top to the posterboard, and glue onto the top of the hat crown.
20. Saw a wine bottle cork in half and paint brown on the sides and bottom. Paint the top black.
21. Drill a hole in the side of the cork, using a 1/8th inch drill bit. Cut a length of 1/8th-inch dowel and insert into the hole in the cork.
22. Paint a 3/4-inch wooden ball black.
23. Cut the fur to the size you want the beard to be.
24. Put the hat on the No-Sew Snowman Gnome's head and mark where you want the beard to be.
25. Glue the No-Sew Snowman Gnome's beard, then nose into place.
26. Add the felt flower to the No-Sew Snowman Gnome's hat.
27. Make a scarf for the No-Sew Snowman Gnome from buffalo check fabric and add to the gnome.
28. Attach the corn cob pipe, and your are done!
